Here we go!

So we had an awesome time in Nashville even though the weather was rainy! We hit the Honky Tonks on Broadway, toured RCA Studio B & Ryman Auditorium, ate our weight in delicious southern food, and enjoyed some time away together. Oh, and did I mention I snagged myself some of these…IMG_0618I have always wanted them and am so thrilled to have gotten two pair of beautiful boots in the Music City!

We missed the warm weather here in San Francisco. Of course it was gorgeous while we were away & now it feels like 35 outside. That’s okay, we soaked up the sun in Sonoma this weekend. We had such a great time with our friends and picked up from 3 of our 5 wine club memberships.IMG_0616With all the excitement we have been indulging a bit. Over the next few weeks we’re making a solid effort to stick with a healthier dietary routine starting today. Here’s what was on the grocery list:

  • Broccoli, Asparagus, Green Beans, Cucumber, Spinach, Kale, Bell Pepper, Cherry Tomatoes, Mixed Greens, Avocados, Iceberg Lettuce, Butternut Squash, Carrot, Celery, Dill, Parsley, Cilantro, Chives, Apples, Mandarins, Lemons, Limes, White Beans, Black Beans, Garbanzo Beans, Quinoa, Whole Wheat Penne, Whole Wheat Bread, Chicken (Phil), Shrimp (Me), & Tuna.

I will be making my first quinoa bowls EVER, so look for some recipes coming your way, & am looking forward to getting back into the swing of things.

’til next time, keep smiling! 🙂

Decisions, Decisions

Happy Labor Day Weekend Friends!

Beautiful Happy Labor Day Weekend Pictures

We’re looking forward to some holiday weekend festivities: wine tasting, biking, art festival, bbq, etc… BUT first, we need to make wedding decisions, since ya know, its happening in about a month!!!

I don’t know if it’s just me but I feel as though we’ve had a wedding planning lull for the last few months and now all of the sudden a million decisions need to be made, like yesterday! God bless my mother and sister! Since I am all the way across the country these two (with the help of some of my aunts and the bridesmaids – THANK YOU LADIES!) have taken the reigns and are tackling so many of the important details! Even with the amazingly generous help from my family, there is still a lot Phil and I need to decide on – favors, welcome bag items, readings, hymns, uplighting colors, linen choices, etc… the list goes on!! There are a few things I am excited about deciding and those are the gifts we’re giving to people involved in the wedding – any fun ideas are welcome..please leave suggestions in the comments! The Wedding-Couple-Angr-Woman-man-300x200one thing we’ve decided for certain is that from here on out we’re not going to let anything about the wedding stress us out or take away from the importance of the day. With all the superficial things, like uplighting, linens, etc… that can go into a wedding, it’s easy to forget the day is about Phil and I creating our own family unit and beginning our life as husband and wife! Whether the flowers are right, or the music is on point, or the bakery delivers the cake on time, we still get to spend the rest of our lives together!

’til next time, keep smiling! 🙂

Weekend fun & Vie Winery

Happy Hump Day Friends!

1896922_10100823851591789_2887689511873738422_nI know it’s a little late to be talking about my weekend but I hit the ground running this week and haven’t had a moment to write things down! This past weekend our adventures took us to Treasure Island, a first for both Phil and I. Just a few short minutes over the Oakland Bay Bridge, this artificial island in the San Francisco Bay feels like an oasis worlds away from the city, even though it’s less than a 10 minute drive.  We were invited by some friends to join for wine tasting and bocce – let me tell you, we had a blast! photo-16We enjoyed ourselves so much Phil and I joined the winery we visited. Vie has this quaint, tucked away tasting room and outdoor space where members and their friends can come and taste the latest releases, enjoy a picnic, play some bocce or whatever outdoor leisure activity your hearts’ desire – talk about a great way to enjoy the afternoon! As part of our membership we’ll receive 3 bottles of various Vie vintages and I am excited to let you guys know all about what we got this weekend and whats to come.

’til next time, keep smiling! 🙂

Is it the weekend yet?

Happy Tuesday Friends! SSfunI feel like as soon as the warm weather hits, every weekend is an awesome weekend! This past weekend was no exception…awesome visit from my bestie Michelle, long Saturday morning ride/yoga session, swim meet for my athletes Sunday afternoon & amazing Sunday family dinner…can’t beat it!! With all this weekend excitement I’ve been doing my best to stay productive, remain ‘on task’, & get as much done as possible so I can get the most out of each weekend moment! Phil & I have are still doing our best to eat clean…dairy, gluten and sugar keep sneaking in here and there but its par for the course when the weather is warm as far as I’m concerned.

The added indulgences seem to be the natural reward for all the increased activity and my body seems to agree –fruitflower I am steadily losing 1/2 lb a week…not that I am actively tracking but its an estimate compared to what I weighed when Phil & I finished our Vabulous Life Spring Detox! More than just the weight, I am feeling more confident with my body, I am noticing my increased strength more and more & I am loving the way my clothes fit…I guess I’m doing something right! This week we’re trying to be as clean and conservative as possible with our eating & spending because we’re heading to Avalon NJ Thursday for a LONG memorial day weekend…I am SOOO excited! I have been looking forward to it for months & I am SUPER excited to finally share progress photos!!

Weekend Workouts & Detox Day 6

What a glorious Saturday! The sun is shining, the birds are chirping and I have already accomplished so much today – I’m loving The Vabulous Life SpringDetox!

20140405-095232.jpgI slept like a baby last night after my killer interval workout! I really wanted to get some solid cardio in and boy did I fish my wish, haha! I took a nice, long walk afterwards to make sure I got all the lactic acid out of my muscles….SO important after an intense workout!

Morning 6 was kicked off with an easy 6 mile bike ride to and from yoga class with the incredible Alex Holmes! I’m feeling stronger and more confident each week I practice with her – it’s such an empowering way to kick off the weekend!

Afterwards Phil and I walked to the farmers market & scooped up some goodies while taking in the sunshine!20140405-152219.jpg
