Motivational Monday #6

Happy Monday Friends!

IMG_4747I’m excited to share this weekly dose of motivation because we’re both starting to see differences. As I have been sharing we’re still enjoying our lives, indulging in moderation, and we’re both down 5+ pounds. More than that, we’re both noticing a bit more muscle definition and feeling great! IMG_0632We had a wonderful weekend in Tahoe skiing and enjoying the amazing views! This week, in addition to my studio classes at Moxie, I am teaching a free class in the Mission as part of Haven Collective Yoga‘s trunk show. I met these talented ladies at the Yoga Journal conference and am so excited to be a part of their pop-up trunk show here in San Francisco. Phil is busy with work meetings and hitting the gym so we’re both already looking forward to our Valentine’s weekend together! ❤ IMG_0628But lets not get too far ahead of ourselves. Here’s what we have lined up for this week to keep us motivated and making positive changes.  It’s week 6 of 16 and we’re feeling like we could do this forever!

San Francisco Adventures

Happy Tuesday Friends!

Phil and I have been settling into married life here in San Francisco and having fun making decisions as a team. Not to say that we hadn’t been working together to solve problems before but it’s seemingly different… decisions are more permanent now: ‘where will we invest our money?’ ‘when do we want to start having kids?’ ‘what kind of house do we want to buy?’

We’re taking it all in stride though and enjoying what comes up! We did a little exploring this past weekend – heading over the bay bridge to check out the shopping outside the city. It was so nice to get away from the chaos of tourists in the city and the views from the bridge were pretty impressive. Both Phil and I experienced one of those “I can’t believe we live here” moments as we gazed out over the views of cityscape, mountains, and bay! We’re so totally blessed!!!

Speaking of blessed, I am really feeling so grateful for my amazing students at Moxie. I’ve started to get in the flow of my regular teaching routine and I couldn’t have done it without their enthusiasm and energy. Each and every one of them is so dedicated to learning and working hard which makes me just sooo excited to show up to work everyday! If you’re in the bay area, check out my yoga page and come flow with us!

’til next time, keep smiling! 🙂

Such a Lush

Happy Hump Day Friends!

Phil and I have about 40 days until we get married and we’re working hard to look our very best! One of the things we are doing is a Lush face mask every other night.

I have tried so many different things for my skincare and I have finally settled on Lush for all my skincare needs – I love it, and so does Phil! All of their products (or most of them anyway) are food grade and 100% natural. Lush never tests it’s products on animals and the company works to make sure the farms/farmers they work with are well treated. I use their face wash, toner, syrum, face lotion, body bar, body conditioner, buffy bar, etc.. and they’re all fabulous, but we’re both obsessed with their face masks!

Whether you’re looking for something to help with breakouts, calm skin after too much fun, even tone, or just need a pick me up…there’s a mask for that! In the photo above Phil is sporting Cosmetic Catastrophe and I have Brazened Honey on my face BUT we are also huge fans of Love Lettuce, BB Seaweed, The Scared Truth and Oatfix (though it smells sooo much like banana bread it’s hard not to eat it off your face!)facemasks_lush

We’ll be continuing this little ritual from now until the big day…and maybe beyond!!!

In other news, I taught my first Bay Area yoga class yesterday!! I was definitely very nervous but there was a strong turn out and it went really well! I can’t wait to tackle more classes here in SF.

’til next time, keep smiling! 🙂

Getting Serious

Hello Friends!

So I would have titled this post ‘Getting Real’ but since the last post was ‘Real Talk’ I didn’t want to be redundant or for anyone to think I simply didn’t care enough to notice, ha ha!  ANYWAY, Phil and I are heading to our Pre-Cana today and I can’t say I am super excited about it.  I’m thrilled about marrying Phil and can’t wait for us to spend the rest of our lives together but I can’t get on board with the idea that the church has to sign off on our union – oh well, that’s the life of a Catholic.  We’re making the best of the day by renting a sweet convertible through GetAround and enjoying a nice dinner afterwards at Flea St. Cafe…I’m just hoping I make it through the eight hours in-between.photo(8)

On a different note, I went to a new yoga studio yesterday with my neighbor (yes, I’m making friends) and met a fabulous instructor. Moxie is such a lovely studio and the teacher I connected with is going to add my information to their sub list, yipee!!!  I have really been putting the pedal to the metal on the ‘job grind,’ with the help of Phil, and am hoping something will materialize soon.  With any luck, I can get a few regular sub spots and snag one of these awesome gigs I’m applying to this weekend.photo(9)

I leave for the start of my 500hr hour training a week from tomorrow…I can’t believe it’s already here; I have so much work to do!!!  I am so excited but even more nervous than I was when I began my Yoga Medicine training last fall! The experience is going to be amazing, i just hope I can keep up, haha!

’til next time, keep smiling! 🙂
