Wellness Wednesday

Happy hump day my fellow wellness lovers!

I hope you’re all in the midst of enjoying another wonderful week! Things have been crazy busy around here and I couldn’t be happier about it. Even though things are quite chaotic, it’s all positive and it is all in the name of advancing myself, my career, and my relationships. It’s during times like these when I find it most important to leave a little space – allow for the ability to reflect, breathe and soak in the moment.

That’s why this week, Wellness Wednesday is dedicated to leaving some space – in your schedule, in your mind, in your heart – for what comes up. When I reflect on where I was about a year ago and where I am today, it is truly unbelievable, except it can’t be because it actually happening 😉 !

A year ago (a little more if I’m being true to the actual date) I was teaching yoga a few nights a week, as my third job, in the basement of an apartment building in center city. There were about 3-5 people in class and 1 was always Phil 🙂 haha! If you had asked me then whether I’d be teaching full time now I probably would have said no…not for a few years, but here I am!!

I love what I do for a living and I feel so lucky to share my passion with a room full of students each and every day! It’s really easy to get wrapped up in taking each step that we forget the path from which we came; so remember, leave a little space for what comes up!

’til next time, keep smiling! 🙂

Motivation Monday

Welcome to 2016 Friends!

photo (1)I am excited to kick off the new year with a new vision for Livingleen; which starts with 16 weeks of diet & exercise regimes every Monday. Both Phil and I are committed to sticking with the posted weekly routine as best as possible…making adjustments, of course, when life calls for it.photo (2)This week we’re hitting the ground running with 2 days of lifting, 3 days of cardio, and yoga (at least a few minutes) every day. We’re partnering our workouts with a lower sugar, high protein diet to fuel our fire and have us feeling fierce in no time. We’ve definitely been indulging in holiday decadence and feeling the extra pounds, so this shift is much needed.photo (3)In an effort to stay motivated and keep things interesting, we’re taking this a step further and turning the next 16 weeks into a bit of a competition…best results gets a prize! We’re going to choose a certain amount of money and the winner gets to decide what we do with it…it should be fun! Below is the diet and exercise we’re sticking to this week…let’s get to it!

“Your body is your message to the world. Make sure it’s inspiring!”

  2. Greens power water & whole wheat toast w/egg whites & cheddar cheese
  • Snack:

Final Days

Happy Ho-Ho-Holidays!IMG_4587It’s official…Phil and I have survived our first Christmas away from family. While there were definitely tears and sadness, we also managed to laugh a ton and have a lot of fun! IMG_4580IMG_4646We enjoyed LOTS of champagne and delicious food, as well as fun and shenanigans with friends around the globe. Between FaceTime with the family and yoga challenges with friends in other time zones, the Christmas weekend has been a testament to how technology makes friends and family feel closer. It was great to watch my Godson opening his first Christmas presents, and equally delighting to share holiday fun with my yogi family across the globe – posting videos and photos as part yoga challenges made me feel more connected to the people I love, even though they’re all miles away. IMG_3867I loved this amazing year with all the incredible milestones and adventures 2015 has offered. I think the most important take away from 2015 is to live in the moment. Life is a crazy roller coaster of excitement, blessings, heartbreak, happiness, love, sweat, tears, and lessons, AND if you are looking too far ahead or behind you’ll miss what’s happening right in front of your face…life is too precious to miss even a moment! IMG_4503I’m making a point to take it all in for 2016…really absorb and appreciate every sunset, hike, bike ride, adventure, restaurant experience, and moment the year has to offer – and if you find me deviating from my mission, please call me out in the comment sections below! 2016 will be the best year for Livingleen yet and I can’t wait to see how it all unfolds and what lessons I’ll learn along the way!

I am saying goodbye to 2015 and looking forward to firing up the new and improved Livingleen in 2016. I am so grateful for all your love and continued support, and look forward to continuing to offer meaningful content to my health conscious and balanced living loving readers. I can’t wait to share all the exciting offerings of 2016 and hope it will help take your healthy living quests to new heights.

’til next time, keep smiling! 🙂

What a weekend!!!

Hey there friends!

IMG_0146

I hope everyone is getting in the holiday spirit! Even though we likely won’t be seeing snow in San Francisco for Christmas, frost covered peaks are just a few hours drive away. Phil and I spent our first weekend of the season in Tahoe and it did not disappoint! We didn’t hit the slopes because we’re still working on our gear situation but we explored Squaw Village, got settled into the house, and watched the snow fall from the hot tub – not a bad way to getaway! Even more exciting, for me anyway, is the discovery that one our housemates is also a yoga instructor in SF – WHOOT WHOOT!!! I am so excited to have a fellow yogi at the house and to get to know another bay area teacher…it’ll be fun to flow together and  nerd out on yoga stuff!

It’s Phil’s birthday tomorrow !!!!! I had a few tricks up my sleeve but he has to travel for work last minute 😦 , so we’ll have to save them for another time. Instead we’ll be celebrating with friends Friday at Dosa since Phil loves Indian…I still might have a thing or two planned! 😉 I have a lot to do for him in preparation for Christmas next week but can thankfully say I am done with everyone else. We’re going to be spending the holiday away from family this year so I think we’re both trying to make an extra effort to make it special!

It’s going to be so much fun to fill this space below the tree with gifts for him and have a nice dinner just the two of us.  Since we’re doing Christmas here I am so excited to be shooting up to Tahoe for some skiing for New Years!!

’til next time, keep smiling! 🙂

San Francisco Adventures

Happy Tuesday Friends!

Phil and I have been settling into married life here in San Francisco and having fun making decisions as a team. Not to say that we hadn’t been working together to solve problems before but it’s seemingly different… decisions are more permanent now: ‘where will we invest our money?’ ‘when do we want to start having kids?’ ‘what kind of house do we want to buy?’

We’re taking it all in stride though and enjoying what comes up! We did a little exploring this past weekend – heading over the bay bridge to check out the shopping outside the city. It was so nice to get away from the chaos of tourists in the city and the views from the bridge were pretty impressive. Both Phil and I experienced one of those “I can’t believe we live here” moments as we gazed out over the views of cityscape, mountains, and bay! We’re so totally blessed!!!

Speaking of blessed, I am really feeling so grateful for my amazing students at Moxie. I’ve started to get in the flow of my regular teaching routine and I couldn’t have done it without their enthusiasm and energy. Each and every one of them is so dedicated to learning and working hard which makes me just sooo excited to show up to work everyday! If you’re in the bay area, check out my yoga page and come flow with us!

’til next time, keep smiling! 🙂

We’re Back!!

Hey Strangers!

It’s been just over a month but Phil and I are finally back on the west coast and getting into the swing of married life! We had an absolutely perfect wedding, blissful honeymoon, and now it’s time for me to figure out this whole wife thing, haha! But seriously, now that we’re home in San Francisco I have taken on a regular teaching schedule and really need to work on building my business. I am thrilled to be teaching at Moxie, both Nob Hill & Mission locations, but am looking to build up a broader private & corporate client base.usMy amazing husband is supporting me in the pursuit of my dream and it’s up to me to take advantage of the opportunity in front of me! Over the next month or two I will be working on weekly content in the hopes of launching a more functional site in 2016.us2I will post once a week between now and then with updates on how things are going, what I am thinking in terms of reoccurring content, and little tidbits from the honeymoon, wedding & yoga teaching.ring

Oh wait, I have a blog…Thursday Thoughts

Hello Friends!

Yes, I remember I have a blog!! I’ve honestly missed sharing everything that’s been going on – btwn work, moving for the fourth and final time, flying home for my shower/Brayden’s Baptism/Mother’s Day/our food tasting, and my birthday, I haven’t had any time to dedicate to writing!photo 1The trip home was amazing! I loved spending time with my family, especially my perfect little godson Brayden!! He is growing so much and I can’t believe I’m missing it!!! Thank God for social media because if it wasn’t for Instagram, I wouldn’t be able to watch him grow up. photo(6)My shower was pretty incredible! My sister, mom and bridesmaids did such an amazing job, I couldn’t be more blessed! The day was so much fun and all the little details really made for a special event…one of my favorite things was all these lovely framed quotes from Phil (notice the mantel behind us for one example)…things he said about me, our first date, etc…it was so sweet! photo(5)Even though it was only a few days apart, I missed Phil (he didn’t come home until a few days after me) & was so excited to do our food tasting a mere 4 hours before flying back to California. It was a great way to round out the trip home – we had the whole venue to ourselves & enjoyed a special private tasting in the bridal suite with the chef, mater dei, & our coordinator.photo 2We made it back to California just in time for my 28th Birthday. This was the first year in a decade that I worked on my Birthday instead of treating myself to a spa day, and quite honestly, it wasn’t the same! Phil, in typical perfect fiance fashion, made me feel special by showering me with flowers, gifts and an intimate meal out…PERFECTO! photo(4)I’m sure I missed a thing or two but at least this post hits on all the highlights! I will admit I haven’t taken any yoga classes in the last two weeks BUT today is a new day and I am starting it was a class before work!photo 2(1)

Fingers crossed I get back on track with this whole regular blogging thing…haha! 🙂 Honestly, sometimes life gets in the way and as much as I love blogging, I am never going to reach a point where I pre-draft my blog posts for weeks at a time just to deliver regular content…THIS blog is about my life as its happening, and I don’t think I can write that 2 weeks in advance!

Til next time, keep smiling! 🙂

…And the fun continues

Happy Hump Day Everyone!

photo-2So I just finished packing Phil and I to move but sadly it isn’t back to our apartment. This wonderfully spacious palace with amazing views could only be ours for a week, and since there still hasn’t been any progress on fixing the issues at our place, we’ve got to relocate to a one bedroom in Pacific Heights.

While it is a beautiful neighborhood and the apartment is nice, its not right for us and it is that much further for Phil to commute to work. My hope is when I meet with our property manager tomorrow, she will have a solution/game plan. For now, I’m going with the flow, remembering each day is a blessing, & just breathing…I can’t say things have gone as expected but they certainly could have been much worse. I guess I need to keep reminding myself to let go of expectations…I’ll keep working on that.

’til next time, keep smiling! 🙂

Valentine’s Weekend Fun

Happy Tuesday Friends!

Today is the first day since I’ve been in SF that the sun isn’t shining. It’s still going to creep into the 60s this afternoon & given the exceptional weather this weekend, I really should be counting my blessings! Phil had off for President’s day so we had a long weekend to explore the city, hang out with friends, and of course, celebrate Valentine’s Day!photo 2(1)The ever romantic Phil bought me those beautiful flowers, a bottle of my favorite champagne, a pair of shoes, an adorable romper & the sweetest card…he spoils me! I lined up an entire day of delicious eats and treats to indulge his inner ‘fat kid’ and shower him with love! photo 1(1)We went on a sunrise walk, enjoyed mimosas and eggs on our deck overlooking the water, lounged with an Italian charcuterie lunch, indulged in stuffed mushrooms and arancini hours devour es for cocktail hour and savored spicy cioppino for a true San Francisco dinner. Of course no meal is complete without dessert so I made sure to have choices: banana’s foster bread pudding, chocolate covered strawberries & bananas, and coconut macaroons…ya know, to keep it healthy! 😉photo 3(1)Its a good thing there are so many hills around us because I could really pack the pounds on with all this yummy food!!! I hope everyone else enjoyed their long weekend as much as we did!

’til next time, keep smiling! 🙂
