Oh wait, I have a blog…Thursday Thoughts

Hello Friends!

Yes, I remember I have a blog!! I’ve honestly missed sharing everything that’s been going on – btwn work, moving for the fourth and final time, flying home for my shower/Brayden’s Baptism/Mother’s Day/our food tasting, and my birthday, I haven’t had any time to dedicate to writing!photo 1The trip home was amazing! I loved spending time with my family, especially my perfect little godson Brayden!! He is growing so much and I can’t believe I’m missing it!!! Thank God for social media because if it wasn’t for Instagram, I wouldn’t be able to watch him grow up. photo(6)My shower was pretty incredible! My sister, mom and bridesmaids did such an amazing job, I couldn’t be more blessed! The day was so much fun and all the little details really made for a special event…one of my favorite things was all these lovely framed quotes from Phil (notice the mantel behind us for one example)…things he said about me, our first date, etc…it was so sweet! photo(5)Even though it was only a few days apart, I missed Phil (he didn’t come home until a few days after me) & was so excited to do our food tasting a mere 4 hours before flying back to California. It was a great way to round out the trip home – we had the whole venue to ourselves & enjoyed a special private tasting in the bridal suite with the chef, mater dei, & our coordinator.photo 2We made it back to California just in time for my 28th Birthday. This was the first year in a decade that I worked on my Birthday instead of treating myself to a spa day, and quite honestly, it wasn’t the same! Phil, in typical perfect fiance fashion, made me feel special by showering me with flowers, gifts and an intimate meal out…PERFECTO! photo(4)I’m sure I missed a thing or two but at least this post hits on all the highlights! I will admit I haven’t taken any yoga classes in the last two weeks BUT today is a new day and I am starting it was a class before work!photo 2(1)

Fingers crossed I get back on track with this whole regular blogging thing…haha! 🙂 Honestly, sometimes life gets in the way and as much as I love blogging, I am never going to reach a point where I pre-draft my blog posts for weeks at a time just to deliver regular content…THIS blog is about my life as its happening, and I don’t think I can write that 2 weeks in advance!

Til next time, keep smiling! 🙂

Next Chapter!

Happy Tuesday Friends!

DadBdayI hope everyone had a lovely Father’s Day weekend! My Dad’s Birthday happened to fall on Sunday this year, so we had a double celebration! The good times continued last night with the US win over Ghana (FINALLY) in the first round of the World Cup! Anyone who follows soccer knows this win is HUGE & to win in such a well played game is especially sweet!

yogamedAs the title suggests, I am starting a new chapter in my holistic health and wellness journey! I enrolled in Tiffany Cruikshank’s Yoga Medicine 200Hr teacher training program for this coming fall. I applied awhile back, it was one of my action steps following the Yoga Conference in March, but I didn’t get my acceptance email until a few weeks ago! I am both excited and nervous to be starting this next chapter but I am confident if I follow my heart things will fall into place!

I am definitely stepping up my yoga game in the coming months to prepare for this fall, but that won’t keep me from open water swims, long bike rides & the interval training my body needs to stay balanced! Tonight I will be joining a client for an open water swim through French Creek Racing but not before sneaking in an interval workout in the park…wish us luck!!

Birthday Bliss

Hello Lovers! Returning to the office after such a lovely day was hard but the bliss from my birthday carried me along today! SO, as promised…a little recap!

trailMy trail ride was amazing…I rode for about 2 hours and took in some beautiful sights. I took so many photos along the way which will slowly start appearing on my instagram feed, so keep an eye out! There is something so uplifting and happy about taking in the purest of beauty…mother nature. I was fortunate enough to have time for some post ride restorative yoga which was such a blessing…I totally needed it!

bdayflowersMy amazing man surprised me with not one but two sets of beautiful flowers and took me to a fabulous restaurant for dinner! This is the second birthday I’ve celebrated with Phil and let me tell you, he is just the sweetest! I have been steadily receiving little gifts for the last week and then he takes me to Laurel, which is Nichols Elmis’s (Top Chef Winner) restaurant…talk about hitting a home run! If it wasn’t for the fact it had to end, the day would’ve been perfect 😉 I couldn’t be more blessed to have such amazing people in my life…the out pouring of FB posts, texts, phone calls, etc… just further solidifies I am the luckiest girl around!

Pose-A-Day: The day flew by and I completely forgot to take my Utthita Hasta Padagustasana (Standing big toe hold) shot, so in my PJs & Phil in his boxers, we snuck outside and snapped it quick, haha! Today’s Kurmasana (Tortoise) will prove to be a challenge. I’m excited to see how things unfold…eer, rather how I am going to unfold, haha!
