Times are a changin’

I don’t know about anyone else out there but I am totally jazzed for October! I am such a sucker for the Autumnal colors, I am pseudo-obsessed with Halloween and I am finally, FINALLY settling into my routine after the wedding whirlwind of the last seven weeks! The only downer of fall is flu season…

…so first thing on the agenda this month was a flu shot! All prepared for my sore deltoids, I walked into the nurses office and asked if there were any available flu shots (one of the perks of coaching part time at a school). Much to my surprise she responded: “Sure, which one?” I guess my puzzled face said it all because she continued to explain that they had a nasal spray vaccine available as well as the shot. Nasal spray?!?! Am I the only one who didn’t know about this?!?!

Obviously, curiosity got the best of me and I had to give it a try (plus she mentioned the spray protects against 4 strains while the shot only 3). Just as quickly as a prick in the arm she was finished and the major upside…no sore deltoids! Normally I feel pretty lousy after my flu shot but aside from a minor sore throat, I feel great!

I’m still totally thrown but this spray business but times are a changing! Don’t forget to get your flu vaccination and enjoy all the glories of fall!

Fall love

ImageHappy Last Day of September!! I love that the trees are slowly starting to change colors and crisp mornings are followed by beautifully breezy afternoons! Treasuring the coming weeks before its too cold to frolic outside should be on the top of everyone’s priority list!

September can sometimes be a crazy time, at least for me! There’s lots of change going on and sometimes its easy to get caught up! No matter what you’ve got going on this fall try to take in the beauty of nature and always remember you are loved. There is an indescribable comfort that comes from a quiet walk outside when the colors of the leaves turn from green to shades of red and yellow.

Take a moment this week to feel the fall love!
