Alaska, Memorial Day, & Our New Ride

We made it home from Alaska without being eaten by any bears or throwing each other overboard! The trip almost didn’t happen since our plane was delayed and my brilliant husband insisted on booking the latest possible flight BUT God was on our side and the Port Authority was feeling generous so we made it onto the ship! With sunrise around 4:30am and sunset around 9:45pm there was so much time to get out and explore! I think my favorite day was when we went riding through Dyea – I absolutely love being on a horse! There is something about having a strong animal trusting you to guide them, and you in turn trusting them to carry you through the wilderness – it’s so great! Secretly I want to buy a horse now but seeing as we just bought a car, I think I need to halt on the horse. Yep, that’s right, we bought a car! Phil and I pulled the trigger on a 2015 Certified Preowned BMW X1 Sport & I can’t tell who likes it more, Phil or Theo! I’m just thrilled to finally have a set of wheels in this city & the ability to get around. Of course the car came as a result of our pending move but I will take it any way I get it. The car will come in handy for transporting yoga props to Halcyon for my Hennessy sponsored, Jigger & Dash hosted, myofascial release workshop. I currently hold a bi-monthly myofascial release workshop at Moxie Nob Hill, and on the 18th I will be adopting it for industry friends…I am so excited to work with such a deserving group of hard working professionals!

Crazytown

Hey Friends!

I can’t believe how long its been since my last post – holy moly I’m behind! In my defense everything happened all at once, just like it always does, and the first thing to fall off was my blogging – don’t hate me!

ANYWAY…

I got a new job…yep, thats right, no more wedding industry for this girl! I can’t believe it but after nearly 5 years I am saying goodbye to my AWG family and moving onto a great opportunity with a software company. I know what you’re thinking, from weddings to software…what gives?!?! I will be working in a sales development role for Workzone, a project management software company…I can’t wait! I am just a few days into the new role, since I was in Alaska (yep, I’ll get to that), but I can already tell I’m going to love it. 

Like I mentioned, I went to Alaska with my family and toured the inner passage. We made stops in Ketchikan, Icy Strait/Hoonah, Juneau, Skagway, Hubbard Glacier, Seward and flew home from Anchorage. Included in our heavily active outdoor activities was a walk-about on a glacier…totally out of this world! While the whole experience was beyond amazing, I did spend a fare amount of time sick. Thats right, I learned something new about myself this vacation…I get motion sickness, BAD! 

Sickness aside, I have never seen anything like some of the sites in Alaska and I can’t wait to go back! Now its time to focus on yoga…just 32 days until I fly to Tulum for the first week of what will be a life changing adventure!!! YAY Yoga Medicine!
